Dr. Jenny Furstenau is an optometrist who provides comprehensive eye examinations including contact lens fittings, pre and post-op eye care, and pediatric case. She also treats ocular diseases including glaucoma and macular degeneration.
Dr. Furstenau grew up in Bennington, NE and graduated from Bennington High School. She graduated with distinction from Midland Lutheran College with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. In 2006, she received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri, St. Louis College of Optometry. She was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society due to her academic success.
Dr. Furstenau returned to northeast Nebraska after graduation and has practiced optometry in Norfolk and Pierce since 2006. She proudly joined Eye Physicians in 2023. Dr. Furstenau strives to build relationships with each patient. Her goal is to provide excellent eye care by listening to each concern patients have, and treating them with compassion and care.
Dr. Furstenau is licensed to practice optometry by the Nebraska Board of Optometry and is a member of the American Optometric Association and Nebraska Optometric Association.
She and her husband, Cory, have four sons. Cory is involved in farming on their family farm outside of Neligh. Dr. Furstenau is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Neligh and is a member of the Neligh Library Foundation. She enjoys golfing, traveling with her family and keeping up with the boys’ activities.
