Dr. Brandon Menke is Board Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He completed a research fellowship at Doris Duke Fellowship in Retinal Regeneration. This resulted in the development of a potentially curative therapeutic technique for blindness shown to regenerate retinal tissue. His work also drove him to study molecular signaling and the pathogenesis of Type II Diabetes at the University of Iowa’s Pediatric Department.

Dr. Menke is a graduate of the University of Iowa, and the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. Dr. Menke did his internship at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. His residency was completed at Palmetto Health at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Menke is an Adjunct Assistant Professor for Oculoplastic Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Staff Ophthalmologist at the VA Hospital.

Dr. Menke is a member of the Nebraska Medical Society, Iowa Medical Society, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Medical Association.

Dr. Menke is a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserve and has established the Menke Family Captain’s Scholarship for the captain of the Omaha Hockey program, the first position-specific scholarship for any sport within Omaha Athletics.

Dr. Menke resides in Elkhorn and when he isn’t working or doing research, he enjoys spending time with his lovely wife, Psychologist Kristen Menke, their two beautiful daughters, Sloane
Adelaide and Blaire Isabelle, and cat, Flanagan.
